Matrix Video Distribution
Video system components, such as DVD changers, VCR's, Cableboxes, and DSS receivers are shared throughout the home. Its like a big A/V receiver with lots of inputs and outputs (see image right). How complex is it? The programming is a bit lengthy, but after it's installed, its done. How reliable is it? It works just like your surround receiver, so it works every time. After a year of installations, we have never had to re-program or service one.
Also, as new technology emerges... you can add new devices into your rack system and distribute throughout the home. This way, if a new cable (like fiberoptic) is needed... you can have the cable installed from the outside service pole to the basement mechanical room and avoid installing the cable to every room throughout your home!
The living room can watch a dvd...
while the kitchen is watching dss...
while the master bedroom is listening to a mp3...
while the backyard is also listening to the same mp3...
while the bathroom is listening to a cd...
You can choose to distribute video to specific or all televisions in your home. For Video distribution, we install composite video, component video, IR cable, Phone cable, Network Cable, Linelevel audio cable, and Speaker cable. Many builders do not install this much cable. But now you are prepared for almost any technology.
Video distribution will adds versitility to any television, while reducing the number of A/V sources. Imagine your flat screen is all that you see on the wall. Without video distribution, you will need to locate next to the TV... a Cablebox DVR to receive premium cable stations and recording HD video, DSS receiver to receive DirectTV, TIVO for recording, a DVD player to watch a DVD, a VCR to watch a VHS tape, Ipod to listen to MP3's, etc. You're flat TV is no longer flat when you have to look at a stack of equipment next to it.
All remaining rooms with televisions will have the traditional CableTV/DSS infrastructure. At a minimum, we install wire for CableTV or DSS, Network, and Phone for each TV location. Most Cable boxes and DSS receivers require a phone and/or Network Jack.
Some builders neglect to install these cables and the owner or the cable company need to run these cables later. That means drilling holes in walls, exposed cables on the floor, or cables tacked to the outside of the home.
Optional High Definition Video Distribution
After your home is prewired for HD, high definition is available to any HD capable television. High definition can come in many forms. Off-Air tuners with an HD antenna provide many local stations. HD Cable boxes provide local stations and premium stations. HD DSS provide premium stations and add an optional HD antenna to provide local stations. HD DVD players have also been recently released.
Control is a snap with a smart touchscreen and/or smart remote control. Clean off your coffee table and throw all your existing remote controls in a box and utilize a Control4 touchscreen and/or Control4 remote control. You are not limited to controlling just the television... control music, lighting, HVAC, survelliance cameras, etc.
Audio distribution is required for all televisions with video distribution.
